Which door to choose?

At Bradford garage doors, we understand that choosing a garage door for your property can be a complicated procedure. There are many different makes and models, as well as different materials so what do you do?

Luckily, with over thirty years experience, we have the skills to help you choose the right garage door for your individual needs. Below we have w look at three of the most popular garage doors, the up and over, sectional and roller, and explain why each might be a better option.

Up and over garage doors

This door is a popular choice for those wanting to secure the items in their garage for a small price. If size of garage is not an issue, this door is perfect however if you are looking to make more from your garage space, remember this door swings inwards and thus you loose height within your garage. Advancements in technology have also allowed this door to be a brilliant choice for those who just want a standard garage door.

Sectional garage doors

Sectional doors have increased in popularity over the last decade as more people think about the energy saving befits of the door. The LPU version which has 42mm of insulation is one of the most popular garage doors for garages that are connected to homes, and helps to reduce heat loss. Sectional doors also allow for more storage space within the garage as they open vertically rather than swing, and as a result they do not have a gap at the bottom or the side, instead having a seal. A great choice for those who also want a little more design features available from their garage door.

Roller garage doors

If maximising your storage space in your garage is the main purpose of using one, a roller garage door which opens vertically and then rolls around at the top is the perfect option. You can store right up to the door on both sides (park close outside) and you also have maximum headroom for extra height storage. With a r age of colours and companies like Hormann also allowing for some personalisation, your garage door could like like a traditional door from the roadside, rather than the shop front shutter look which people are worried about.

These are just three of the garage door options available, and other options include side hinged although this is not universally popular across the Bradford region.
